OLYMPIC BAPTIST ASSOCIATION
CONSTITUTION
I. NAME
The name of the Association shall be OLYMPIC BAPTIST ASSOCIATION, cooperating with the Northwest Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention, and incorporated under the laws of the State of Washington as a non-profit organization.
II. PURPOSE
The purpose of the Olympic Baptist Association is: “To assist the churches of the Olympic Baptist Association in accomplishing the Great Commission.” The Association will partner with the cooperating churches in the areas of Church Health, Leadership Development, and Mission Development.
III. DOCTRINAL EXPRESSION AND COVENANT
We herewith adopt the most recent version of the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention and published in the tract “The Baptist Faith and Message” as the doctrinal expression of this Association and concur in the introductory statement of the historic Baptist concept of the nature and functions of confessions of faith.
IV. AUTHORITY
This is an autonomous body and therefore reserves the right to determine its own policies and direct its own business, and may refuse to seat the messengers from churches who are not in fellowship or doctrinal agreement with the Association. However, this Association shall never exercise any authority over any church affiliated with it or who may have been affiliated with it, but will stand ready to lend any assistance or counsel to any church making request for such help.
V. IN CASE OF DISOLUTION
In the event that the Olympic Baptist Association dissolves as an organization, the assets of the Association will be divided equally among all of the active member churches.
VI. AMENDMENTS
This constitution may be amended (except Article IV) at any regularly scheduled annual meeting of the Association by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the messengers present, provided notice of such change has been given to the churches in writing at least (30) days prior to the meeting, and provided it is read in the first session of the meeting and voted on in the last session.
